Delete your AcornReply account

You can delete your AcornReply account yourself, from the phone app or on the web. If you cannot sign in, ask us and we will do it for you.

Before you start

  • If you pay for a plan, cancel it first. Deleting your account does not cancel the subscription. On the web, go to Settings › Plan & billing.
  • If you are the only admin of your organization, the organization goes with your account. That means every workspace in it, and every conversation in those workspaces. Your teammates lose access and get an email that says so. To keep the organization, make a teammate an admin first, under Settings › Members.

Delete it in the app

This works the same on Android and iPhone.

  1. Tap your avatar at the top right.
  2. Tap Profile settings.
  3. Tap Delete account, then Delete.

If your organization will be deleted too, the dialog tells you before you confirm.

Delete it on the web

  1. Sign in at acornreply.com.
  2. Go to Settings › Profile.
  3. Under Delete account, type your email address to confirm, then delete.

If you are the only admin, the web asks you to delete the organization first. Go to Settings › Details, delete the organization, then come back and delete your account. The app does both in one step.

Ask us to delete it

Cannot sign in any more? Write to us from our contact page, from the email address on the account, and say you want the account deleted. We check that the request comes from the account's owner, then delete it.

What we delete, and when

Right away:

  • Your account and the ways you sign in (email code, password, Google, Apple).
  • Your sessions, so every phone and browser is signed out.
  • Your devices, their push tokens and your notification settings.
  • Your profile picture.
  • Your place in every organization and workspace.
  • If you signed in with Apple, we also tell Apple to end the connection to AcornReply.

Seven days later, if your organization was deleted with your account: its workspaces, conversations, messages, drafts, customers, knowledge base and attachments. Nobody can open them during those seven days.

Backups: copies in our database backups are overwritten within 30 days.

What stays

  • Replies you sent, if your organization carries on without you. They stay in your team's conversations with your name as the sender, so your teammates keep the history. They are no longer linked to an account.
  • Internal notes you wrote, in the same case. They stay in the conversation, shown as written by a former teammate.
  • Emails already delivered. Anything you sent is in your customers' inboxes, and we cannot recall it.
  • Product usage records, such as "a reply was sent". They keep an internal ID that no longer matches any account, and hold no name, email address or message text.

Deleting your account cannot be undone. If you come back later, you sign up again and start with a new account.
