Replying to customers in other languages

When a customer writes in a language that isn't your workspace's reply language, AcornReply helps you understand them and answer naturally — without you having to switch languages or paste things into a translator.

Reading what they wrote

AcornReply detects the language of each inbound message. When it differs from your workspace's reply language, the conversation thread shows you a translation into your language, so you can follow what the customer is asking. You can always view the customer's original wording too, so nothing is lost in translation.

Replying in your language

You write your reply in your own language, as usual. When you're ready, AcornReply offers to translate and send — you can preview the translation first, then send it in the customer's language. To the customer, the reply arrives in the language they wrote in; on your side, the thread stays readable to you.

Your reply language

Your workspace's default language is set under Settings → Workspace (the reply language / agent language setting). This is the language the AI drafts in and the one AcornReply treats as "yours" when deciding what to translate.

How it fits with AI drafts and auto-reply

Language handling runs through the same engine as everything else:

  • AI drafts are prepared in your reply language, ready for you to edit and send (or translate and send).
  • Auto-reply (if you've turned it on) detects the customer's language and delivers in it automatically.

So whether a human sends the reply or the AI does, the customer hears back in the language they used.
