Search and keyboard shortcuts

AcornReply's search is built to find any conversation fast, and it pairs with a few keyboard shortcuts that let you work the inbox without reaching for the mouse.

Searching

Start typing three or more characters into the search bar at the top of the inbox — or press / from anywhere in the inbox to jump straight there. Search looks across every conversation you can access, matching on:

  • customer name and email,
  • the message subject, and
  • the full body of every message in the thread — not just the latest one.

Matches are highlighted in the list, and the most relevant snippet appears under each row, so you can see why something matched without opening it.

Search respects the active tab

The status tab you're on scopes your results: a search under Open only returns open conversations. Switch to All to search across every status at once, including resolved and snoozed.

Clicking through results

Opening a result keeps your search active — the list stays filtered to the same hits, with the one you opened marked as current, so you can click through several without retyping. Clear the box (the × in the search bar, or Esc) to drop the filter and return to the normal inbox.

Keyboard shortcuts

In the inbox:

Key Action
/ Focus the search bar
Step from the search box into the results
/ Move between rows
Enter Open the highlighted conversation
Esc Clear the search

In the reply composer:

Key Action
⌘ + Enter / Ctrl + Enter Send the reply

Between / to search, the arrow keys to move, Enter to open, and ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to send, you can triage and reply to a whole run of conversations without leaving the keyboard.
