Install AcornReply on your phone
AcornReply is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can install it on your phone straight from the browser — no app store needed. Once installed, it opens full-screen like any native app, and it's the only way to get push notifications on mobile.
Installing
On iPhone/iPad (Safari):
- Open your AcornReply inbox in Safari.
- Tap the Share button.
- Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
On Android (Chrome):
- Open your AcornReply inbox in Chrome.
- Tap the ⋮ menu.
- Choose Install app (or Add to Home Screen).
An AcornReply icon appears on your home screen. Tap it and the app opens full-screen, without the browser bars.
Turn on push notifications
Push notifications are what make the mobile app worth installing — they reach you even when AcornReply is closed. After installing:
- Open the app from your home screen.
- When prompted, allow notifications.
- In Settings → Notifications, turn on web push for the workspace and events you care about.
Push is per device, so your phone and your laptop each subscribe separately, and you can manage them independently. See Notifications: never miss a message for the details.
Swipe gestures
On a touch screen, you can clear your queue with a flick:
- Swipe right on a conversation to snooze it.
- Swipe left to resolve it.
On iPhone, the very left edge of each row is reserved for the system back-swipe, so start your snooze swipe just inside the row rather than right at the edge.
Staying signed in
Once you've signed in on the installed app, it keeps you logged in, so day-to-day you just tap the icon and you're in your inbox.
