FAQs

How does Sign in with Apple work?

Sign in with Apple is available in the AcornReply iPhone app. It is not offered on the web.

The first time you use it, Apple asks whether to share your email address or hide it:

  • Share My Email gives AcornReply your real address. If you already have an AcornReply account with that email, you sign in to it, and Apple becomes one more way to sign in to that account.
  • Hide My Email gives AcornReply a private relay address from Apple instead. That address does not match an account you created with your real email, so a first sign-in this way from the log-in screen is refused. If you already have an account, choose Share My Email the first time.

After your first successful sign-in, AcornReply recognizes your Apple ID, so Sign in with Apple keeps working whichever email option you chose.

If you tap Create an account and choose Hide My Email, the new account uses the relay address. It is a separate account from any account under your real email.
